A Crucigramista, is created and written by Jessica Mitrani with Paula Parisot and directed and art directed by Jessica Mitrani for ARTE1 in Brazil, the first TV channel devoted exclusively to art and culture in that country.
In an interdisciplinary way and with a sense of humor, the program subverts ideas that shape the formation and construction of what would be" Latin American identities" to create a dialogue between iconic figures and contemporary artists in Latin American culture in the signature aesthetic that defines Mitrani's work.
"America Invertida” premiered on March 16 2018 and consists of seven videos of seven minutes each with the following themes : identity, memory, residence, progress, emancipation and borders.
If you are in São Paulo check out A Crucigramista/América Invertida my video series (in collaboration with Paula Parisot) at SESC Vila Mariana. The installation consists of seven videos in the context of the “congress of learning and teaching arts in Latin America: colonialism and gender”.
