Jessica Mitrani, born in Colombia and based in New York, is an artist who creates worlds through performance, theatre, and video. Her work explores social, linguistic, and aesthetic constructs of the feminine, with attention to the function and circulation of gendered cultural symbols and the ways they both articulate and conceal political significance. Beginning at the edge of identity—once tethered to gender and now unfolding into something vaster: the spiritual, the psychological, and the imaginable.
