Is the dinner party a tediously bourgeois form—as per Luis Buñuel—or can it potentially subvert the patriarchal family meal? In these performative gatherings, Colombian-born artist and hostess Jessica Mitrani will guide guests through the dramaturgy of a successful evening convening. Learn how to create transformative social scenarios combining food, discussion, and a healthy portion of relational antagonism. Participants will toast positives ideas to raise during the course of the meal, or distasteful views to spit out. These are incorporated into a final mind map and manifesto written on a paper tablecloth. Arrive as atomized and alienated individuals, conclude as a collective community—all in one seating!
